"An experience not to be missed..."

backstage THEATRE TOURS

Whether you are planning an open day, a launch or a festival the Natural Theatre Company can offer a memorable experience for your visitors and staff, unique to your building and its history.

Our specially produced tours are created in conjunction with you, using the many talents and guises of our performers. Previous tours have been successful at the Greenwich Theatre, London, and the Theatre Royal, Bath.

At Greenwich Theatre the audience were led through the building by a “famous actor” and along the way encountered members of the “staff”. These included a 1950’s box office assistant, a grumpy technician and a super efficient theatre manager (modelled closely on the real one!), involving all areas of the venue.

Ghosts

A theatre tour would not be complete without an appearance from a figure from the past, the resident ghost, who dwelt in the wardrobe amongst the costumes. The audience ended their tour on the stage to discover themselves in an audition for “Hair, The Musical”, complete with full lights and sound. Lyric sheets were distributed and a grand finale belted out, with the “director” calling out from the stalls. The audience who had now become the “cast” were then given contracts, containing lots of small print, to appear in the next show.

workshop housewives/witches

During our tours of Bath’s Theatre Royal thirteen members of their Young People’s Theatre augmented our performers. They took on various roles such as the ‘Three Witches’ from Macbeth using our Housewife characters, Soap Star Autograph Hunters spotting ‘famous’ faces in the audience and of course ghosts, arguing over who was the real ‘Grey Lady’.

We are able to work entirely on our own, from conception to performance, or the event can involve your resident Youth Theatre or amateur dramatic organisation. Our talented team will create tailor-made workshops involving local organisations leading up to the performances, encouraging artistic and creative input.

This is also a great way to involve your Education Department for a truly local presentation and is a great PR tool for promoting public and press interest in your operation.

As one young performer expressed -
“…you have inspired me greatly...”
