THE NATURALS' FAMOUS 40 MINUTE WORKSHOPS

The Word on the street is Natural...

Natural Theatre Company is known the world over for its comic interventions into real life. For over forty years they have animated streets from Ipswich to Islamabad and back again with their inscrutable comic characters. But what is it like to suddenly become someone else at the drop of a hat, no script, no stage, no scenery? In just forty minutes our actors can turn you into a street performer. Guaranteed! In fact, you will end up performing in the street because that's where the company's workshops always end up!

Each mini-workshop can be self-contained lasting about an hour so you can attend all of them or just one. No experience necessary. Come and find out how to be a Natural!

These mini-street theatre workshops are suitable for older children and adults. An experienced workshop leader and assistant take the class through a crash-course in the Natural Theatre technique, with supported improv (no need to feel shy) and a selection of props to get things going. Each workshop has a different angle (keeping a straight face, use of costume, voice, teamwork) which can be literature-based but always ends with a five minute live public performance, whether in a foyer or in the street outside. Participants say 'I can't believe I just did that!' and passers by love the laughter and surprise!

The group can be three people or thirty. We need sole use of a quiet space as people need to concentrate to get full value from the experience.
